Leaderboard Golf is a privately owned company with a venue portfolio that includes some of the finest courses and resorts in the south of England, including Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Club, high on the Sussex Weald. Dale Hill has been a Creaseys client for many years and when it was bought by Leaderboard in 2001 the practice was appointed to work with the entire group.
In addition to multi-facility Dale Hill, Leaderboard owns Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club near Newbury, The Oxfordshire in Thame, which includes a golf course, hotel and spa, and the Leaderboard Golf Centre, a floodlit golf range, coaching facility and store at Reading.
Seeing the Big Picture
Creaseys audits the Leaderboard accounts and provides wide-ranging advice on matters such as tax planning, VAT and due diligence. Partner Rob Blundell is Leaderboard’s main point of contact.
Rob enjoys playing golf and that is considered important by the client. Barry Lewis, corporate secretary at Dale Hill, said: “Rob comes and plays and that’s a way of him seeing how we are developing. Leaderboard is a complex set of businesses, proactive and moving forward all of the time.”
Barry Lewis said that he appreciates the continuity at Creaseys. “When the team comes in to do the audit, there are always familiar faces and that’s great. I don’t have to spend time telling new people about the business and how we operate.”
He added that Creaseys is well respected locally and it is good to work with local suppliers. “That said, Creaseys is involved with all of our Leaderboard properties and the team has proved itself very adaptable in dealing with each of our sites – as we’re all quite different.”
