What is your role at Creaseys?
I oversee the internal finance function, ensuring that our internal reporting systems inform our decision-making processes.
What are your specialisms and areas of interest?
I am passionate about integrating financial information with other performance related metrics. This is always an ongoing process, as businesses develop and adapt to opportunities and demands. Working in the hub of a business is what keeps it interesting. I am also an advocate for simplification and common sense accounting – reporting on what is needed rather than all things possible. Too much information can be as difficult to deal with as too little! Outside of the office, my life revolves around the family. I am often found in sports halls, whilst my son pursues his love of badminton, or at events with our foster child.
What's your proudest achievement at Creaseys (so far)?
I have been responsible for redeveloping the internal reporting systems and processes of the Firm to ensure they inform the business decision making processes. The structure now supports the Directors in evaluating the Firm’s performance in order to maximise opportunities and results. I am also proud of our trainees who fulfill the role of our internal accounts assistant on a rolling six month secondment. This gives them the opportunity to get some real life experience of operating an accounts system and gain a greater understanding at an early stage of the value of management information.
