Working with small practitioners

We have offered a discreet service to smaller accountants and tax advisers for many years and built up strong relationships with over 50 practitioners, offering a second opinion on tax matters. 

The world of tax is becoming increasingly bewildering and there are not only the benefits of giving good advice to clients but also looking to minimise risk and ease the compliance process. Revenue enquiries can be worrying and we have senior ex Inspectors of Taxes who can assist.  

Our approach is totally flexible but typically we may start by offering ad hoc advice from time to time and would normally have an initial meeting with the firm to understand their client base and requirements.  Subsequently it may be that we meet clients with the other practitioner present or alternatively on our own, with the consent of the practitioner concerned.  Sometimes we are asked to takeover the compliance process usually for more complex clients such as non domiciliaries, non residents or trusts.  We try to be as practical, helpful and friendly as possible. 

We send out tax alerts to small practitioner clients and hold free update meetings.  Much of our referrals come from involvement with the professional bodies and one of our Tax Partners Richard Holme has been a Kent Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners.
